The Green Energy Supply Scheme was formally launched at an event held in the House of Commons in London on the 9th February 2010. Certified tariffs for the public and small businesses are now available.

Guests were welcomed to the House of Commons by the Chair of the Scheme, Solitaire Townsend (right), who gave an introduction to the aims and operation of the Scheme. Sara Harrison (centre) explained the role of Ofgem in setting the initial guidelines around additionality and matching, while Juliet Davenport (left), the Founder and Chief Executive of Good Energy, explained how she hoped that the Scheme would enable customers to compare green supply offerings and improve their confidence in the market. The event was hosted by Alan Whitehead, MP, who has a longstanding interest in environmental issues and renewable energy.
